A sprawling executive residence integrating indoor-outdoor living with engineering excellence.
Ridge House is our most ambitious residential project to date — a 425m² executive residence spanning a dramatic ridgeline site overlooking Hawke's Bay wine country. The home's design responds to its extraordinary setting with three interconnected pavilions stepping down the terrain. A central "spine" corridor links the public living pavilion, private bedroom wing, and a separate guest house, creating distinct zones while maintaining visual connection throughout. Engineering challenges required innovative solutions. The wine cellar is literally carved into the ridge, with exposed steel retention walls becoming a dramatic architectural feature. The main living pavilion features a 9-metre cantilevered deck extending over the slope, creating a suspended viewing platform with unobstructed vineyard views. Construction is currently underway, with the steel frame completed and interior fit-out in progress. The clients will take possession in Spring 2024, in time to enjoy their first vintage from the estate vineyard visible from nearly every room.
