The Meridian Complex demonstrates that prefabricated steel construction isn't just for individual homes — it's a viable solution for medium-density housing that can help address New Zealand's housing shortage. This development comprises eight two-bedroom apartments across two buildings, delivered to Meridian Housing Trust for community housing. Working within strict budget constraints, we proved that quality and affordability are not mutually exclusive. All 32 modules were fabricated simultaneously at our facility, enabling assembly of both buildings in just six days. Total project timeline from consent to occupancy was 22 weeks — roughly half the time of traditional construction methods. This rapid delivery meant lower financing costs and faster returns for the Trust. Each apartment features full-height glazing, open-plan living, and premium finishes typically reserved for market-rate housing. The buildings achieved a 6 Star HomeStar rating while meeting the Trust's strict budget targets, establishing a new benchmark for community housing in New Zealand.
